Tech Me Out to the Ballgame Business Summit

Summer 2017

As my first career experience leaving the comfort of Tucson, I accepted the full-time position as the marketing intern with Trapp Technology for their summer business summit, Tech Me Out to the Ballgame. The marketing team of six welcomed me in and trained me in their areas of expertise: PR and communications, email outreach, copy writing, web design, graphic design, and more. Some of my responsibilities included, but were not limited to, curating event content to promote on social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn), managing the ticket sales, and gathering analytics from social ads to present to the team each Monday morning.

Once a month, I assisted the Marketing Director and Marketing Coordinator to the venue, Chase Field in downtown Phoenix, to meet with the sales rep and even participated in the negotiations for wifi bandwidth, catering, and presentation materials. After three months of event planning and promoting, the team and vendors setup and opened the doors. We aimed to sell 250 tickets and instead sold 278 while also earning over 100 new business leads for Trapp’s services.

Going Above and Beyond:

A new sales hire who was remote and in training at the Phoenix Downtown office for a week needed to be transported back to Kingman, AZ. This was a condition in her hiring that the company would provide a means of transportation to and from cities. I drove her back to Kingman in the company car, which was about 6 hours roundtrip. I learned to be flexible in this experience and how to finesse a sushi lunch with the Sales Executive.
